The Cayman Islands, in the Western Caribbean Sea, are made up of three islands; Grand Cayman, which is the largest, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. Cayman Islands are an excellent choice for cheap Caribbean holidays. Stay with us for some travel facts and insight on this amazing Caribbean destination.

Getting there

The main passenger airport in the Cayman Islands, ‘Owen Roberts International Airport’, is located on the largest of the Cayman Islands, Grand Cayman. Our sister island of Cayman Brac also has its own airport, ‘Gerrard Smith Airport’. These two airports serve as the Cayman Islands main ports of entry for visitors. Little Cayman is served by daily inter-island flights.

The best beaches

Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman is not only the most popular beach on Grand Cayman Island but also one of the most famous beaches in the Caribbean. However, it’s far from your only choice for surf, sun and sand when visiting the three main Cayman Islands — Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac — and every beach in the Caymans is open to the public.

Best Hotels

Caribbean Club in Seven Mile Beach, Turtle Nest Inn in Grand Cayman, Cobalt Coast Resort & Suites also in Grand Cayman and Brac Reef Beach Resort inCayman Brac

Cheap Caribbean Islands For Holidays

Looking for cheap Caribbean holidays? How about Bonaire Island. The lack of commercial development, wonderful weather and friendliness of the local people, lets you enjoy your holiday to the full, without feeling like a tourist. Bonaire enjoys unspoilt beauty and some of the best scuba diving and snorkelling in the world.

Expanding from mid-January all the way until September, the extensive dry season is Bonaire’s most favourable period as hundreds of tourists flock the island year after year. Precipitation levels over the nine month dry season average at a tiny 200mm. This provides endless hours of sunshine and daily temperatures above 30C. Sea temperatures remain very similar to air temperatures; however they are still a very soothing way to freshen up after a long day in the sun.

The crystalline blue waters of Bonaire Marine Park and the talcum sands of pocket beaches create ideal conditions for scuba diving, snorkelling, sea kayaking, deep sea fishing, beach-combing, and windsurfing. The rugged hills are perfect for mountain biking, hiking, eco touring and bird watching. Bonaire is an obvious choice for nature lovers.

It’s recommended that if you want to dine at a particular restaurant on a given day, especially for dinner, that you make reservations. During normal periods, it may suffice to place your reservation the same day as your intended meal, but for waterside dining, it may be a good idea to call a day in advance. The front desk at the hotel you’re staying in can help you with this.

Most of the beaches on Bonaire are public with the exception of Harbour Village Resort where access is rectricted to guests and to those who have paid an entrance fee. Public nudity of any kind is illegal and insulting to the local people, except on Sorobon Beach (a privately owned nudist resort). Topless sunbathing and swimming is tolerated on non-locally used beaches.

Travelers usually arrive via air, through Bonaire’s Flamingo International Airport. Direct flights from North American are usually not available, so many travelers from the U.S. and Canada connect through Hato International Airport in Curaao. Connecting flights are also available from Caribbean regional air carriers through the airports at San Juan, Santo Domingo, and Montego Bay, among others. Air Jamaica, American Eagle, Dutch Caribbean, and KLM often offer such connecting flights.

Best Beach In Cuba

Dry dock which is the literal translation of Varadero is a beach on the north coast of Cuba in the province of Matanzas. To be more specific Varadero is found in the peninsula of Hicacos. Varadero is really, a true challenger to the popularity of Havana.

How to get there

There is and international airport in Varadero and a couple of international Marinas with immigration and customs check points. Most flights to Varadero are carried out by charter companies so if prefer to flight with schedule airlines instead to can fly to Havana and from there it will only take a couple of hours on the road to Varadero.

Moving around Varadero

There is a double-decker open-on-top bus that runs on a regular schedule from the tip of the peninsula to the town. You can also hire a car or even better a scooter which is more justifiable given the small size of the peninsula.

What to do

A park in the middle of Varadero filled with birds, vendors, music and camel rides for the kids or and Excursion by Catamaran, snorkelling in a coral barrier reef or spending time swimming with dolphins seem to be the most popular of activities in Varadero. However there is much more to do and you can be advised by the tourist desk in your hotel reception.

Best Hotels

This is a very subjective subject but in my modest opinion the best hotels in Varadero are Iberostar Varadero, Paradisus Princesa del Mar, Paradisus Varadero, Blau Varadero, Iberostar Tainos or any of the new Barcelo hotels.

Cuba in general, and Varadero in particular, are very safe places for travellers. Varadero is pretty strictly a tourist enclave, with limited access for locals, and routinely policed. Elsewhere in Cuba is much different. It is, however, arguably the safest country in the Caribbean for travelers, including single females. Use your common sense and you’ll be fine.

Nightlife In Varadero Beach

If you are looking for information about Varadero beach and its nightlife then stop looking around and follow up on this article that focuses on the best nightclubs in Varadero. Like any of us you probably want options rather than be stuck inside the premises of your hotel in Varadero.

You can actually find nightly entertainment in almost every hotel in Varadero. The shows are held in some sort of outdoor theatre. These can vary from sadly comic to totally professional and most of them end up in some sort of dance party.

Want to go somewhere interesting?

Tropicana Matanzas, not too far from Varadero, is by far the biggest and most spectacular show in the area. Even though I prefer the show in Havana’ Tropicana this one in Varadero is definitely worth the price of the ticket which cost around 40.00 US Dollars.

Other cabaret options include the Cabaret Continental at Varadero Internacional Hotel (cover US$11 or 5.40); the Mambo Club at Gran Hotel towards the end of Varadero peninsula (over US$16/8.10); and the Palacio de La Rumba at the Hotel Bella Costa, Avenida Las Amricas (cover /US$16/8.10).

Casa de La Musica: This place has quality live acts and a definitive Cuban feel. It’s in town and attracts a local crowd who pay in pesos.

La Comparsita Club: Even if it is a difficult task, in a place like Varadero, not to bump into some foreigner, a lot of tourists are still looking for places where they can experience authentic Cuban night life. La Comparsita is one of this places. Performers are talented solo singers, salsa groups and comedians. It also provides a piano and karaoke bar where prices are good and service starts on afternoon until late at night. Casual atmosphere.

Cueva del Pirata, located in Autopista Sur Km 11, is a relatively small but cozy cave that has been converted into a popular cabaret and dance club. Lights create eerie shadows among the stalactites. The cabaret show begins around 10:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday and has a pronounced Afro-Cuban emphasis. It’s followed by dancing to either a live band or a DJ.

Holidays To Bahamas

If you are looking for cheap all inclusive holidays allow me to introduce you to Bahamas. Over 200 pristine white sand islands and 700 cays make up the Bahamas. We take you to a few of the best, including New Providence, Paradise Island and The Exuma’s.

There is a wide selection of Bahamas Resorts to cater for everyone; jam-packed with activities for families with children, stylish and intimate for couples, and fun and lively for singles. You’ll be dazzled by the sheer luxury and size of the Bahamas’ all-inclusive resorts.

This collection of mini paradises basks in a tropical maritime climate, seeing a warm, dry winter season from November till April, and a hot, wet summer from May till October. The northern and western islands tend to be cooler than the southern islands.

One of the most popular beach activities in Bahamas is Kite surfing. But Bahamas is also an ideal location for families and those with non kiting partners looking for a relaxing beach vacation. Apart from the fantastic beaches Nassau has world class casinos and nightlife, fine dining, duty free shopping as well as scuba diving, tennis, golf, horseback riding and snorkelling.

New Providence is what most visitors erroneously call Nassau. That’s because it is the site of the nation’s capital, named in 1695 for the Dutch Prince of Orange-Nassau after he took over the British throne. Since about two-thirds of the Bahamian population lives on the relatively small island of New Providence, it is the mouse that roars. Recent years have seen millions of dollars invested in Nassau, Cable Beach, & Paradise Island.

Indulge in magnificent views of Nassau Harbour, picturesque scenery, and exciting recreation for the entire family at Paradise Island Harbour Resort. It is simply the preferred choice of Bahamas all-inclusive hotels. This Beach resort has been inspired by the ancient and enigmatic Atlantis City and it will take you through a journey of fantasy and adventure.

Blau Varadero Hotel: The members of the staff from the receptionist to the waiters in the dining rooms to the staff in the bars and the bar by the pool everyone is very helpful and this is rare in Cuba as most workers are demotivated because of the low wages. This 4 star hotel has very cheap prices compared to any other 4 star hotel in Varadero.

Paradisus Varadero Resort and Spa: This is another 5 star hotel managed by the same Sol Melia hotel chain that runs the Paradisus Princesa del Mar. It could be a bit disappointing at times especially when clients pay a lot of money for its rooms. But is general is well recommended and deserves its place in the top 10 hotels in Varadero.

Iberostar Tainos: The rooms are basic but clean and adequate, the beach is perfect and the water is warm and shallow. The night entertainment is varied and fabulous.

On zodiacs or a boat, cruise the Canimar River with a typical Cuban lunch riverside. Some horseback riding or rowing? Why not!! This is a a 4×4 jeep tour not to be missed!!!!

Nightlife in Varadero: La Rumba is a pretty wild and exciting bar on certain nights of the week. Barbados Holidays

Affectionately known as ‘Little England’ Barbados is a surprisingly diverse island with beautiful beaches, stunning natural beauty and a very warm welcoming culture. If you are looking for cheap Caribbean holidays why not consider Barbados.

Best Beaches in Barbados: There are beaches everywhere. Along the East coast they are wide and wind-blown. Here the shore is pounded by the Atlantic making it a delight for the surfers who come from all over the world. On the calmer South and West coasts, you may walk for miles along unbroken white sand beaches, sometimes stopping at a cluster of coral rocks jutting out to sea.

Things to do: Much more than just the sun, sea and sand usually associated with a Caribbean island, Barbados has an incredible range of holiday activities for almost every interest and taste. In fact Barbados boasts of more attractions per square mile than any other Caribbean island!

Accommodation: We highly recommend Accra Beach is one of the nicest beaches along the South Coast of the island. This beach is also known as Rockley Beach and is located in the Rockley area of Christ Church. As if being located on an amazing white sandy beach in Barbados isn’t enough, Accra Beach Hotel is in the best location.

Getting around: The easiest way to move around is by taxi. Most hotels have an arrangement with a taxi operator or company, and these operators can be contacted by visiting the front desk or concierge. Of course this could be expensive but you can also rely on public transportation which can take you literally everywhere.

Weather: Year round Barbados has days and days of glorious weather. Bridgetown is reliably hot with almost no variation in temperature. It hovers just below 30C in the peak of the day and sidles down to the mid 20s at night. Seasons are defined by rainfall and humidity. The dry season, from December till May, can still see some rain but is, for the most part, dry and sunny. Rain falls in short storms that quickly give way to clear skies. The average high temperature stays around 28C which is kept bearable by relatively low humidity.

St Kitts Holidays

Known to the Caribbean Indians as ‘the fertile land’, St Kitts has the only expanding rainforest in the world! Learn more about cheap Caribbean Holidays and St Kitts in the paragraphs below.

The best beach resorts in St Kitts: In our opinion, Frigate Bay South is the most popular and best beach in St Kitts outside of the beaches on the Southeast Peninsula. This Caribbean beach has a long stretch of golden sand and the waters are mostly calm. There are beach bars (including Mr X Shiggidy Shack Bar & Grill and Monkey Bar) and restaurants (Dolce Cabana and Sunset Cafe) that sell a variety of cold drinks and mouth watering foods.

Getting Around St Kitts: Car rentals offer travellers the most freedom and mobility, though at the most expense. Drivers stay to the left in St. Kitts and Nevis. Roadways can be pocked with potholes, and animals occasionally dart in front of vehicles, but roads are generally well-maintained.

Sightseeing in St Kitts: As you head west on Cayon Street, past the Springfield Cemetery, you be travelling on the island’s main road. Just outside Basseterre, on your left, stop to admire the natural white egret sanctuary where hundreds of yellow-billed white egrets perch in the prickly Acacia trees.

What to know about the Weather in St Kitts: The main noteworthy event of the climatic year in St. Kitts is the hurricane season which can run from May to December, with its strongest period between August and October. Hurricanes can be devastating but in truth they are quite rare; in the last 65 years only 13 hurricanes have hit the island.. In addition ten tropical storms have hit the island in this time – these are violent Pacific storms but not quite strong enough to be classed as hurricanes.

Safety Issues: You should maintain vigilance at all times even when staying with family or friends. Avoid walking alone in isolated areas, including beaches, after dark. Do not carry large amounts of cash or jewellery. Valuables and travel documents should be left, where possible, in safety deposit boxes and hotel safes.

Cheap Aruba Holidays

Few places in the world offer so much enchantment than the Caribbean and never better assured than in Aruba with its baby-blue waters and long, sandy beaches. If you are looking for cheap Caribbean holidays then stick around for some insight about this Caribbean island.

Best Beaches in Aruba: Beaches in Aruba, and there are plenty of them, enjoy the privilege of being considered amongst the cleanest, widest, and most attractive of the Caribbean. The island’s entire leeward (south/east) coast, the island’s gold coast (north/west), is filled with beaches and their attendant small and large hotels. The beaches are all public and access is easy; either through a hotel or by parking directly at the beach.

Best Tours in Aruba: Sightseeing will take you places! The most impressive must be the Natural Bridge, a must-see when in Aruba, along with the Natural Pool. You also shouldn’t miss Arikok Park, the Donkey Sanctuary, and the caves and sand dunes the island is famous for. If you’re feeling more adventurous than that, then you should definitely try parasailing, wind and kite surfing, scuba diving, just a few of the many water activities in Aruba.

Nightlife in Aruba: Aruba nights add excitement to the island’s quiet desert island persona. Mingle with locals and tourists at any of the scores of casual beach and pier bars that dot the southwest coast from downtown Oranjestad to the far end of the high-rise strip. Weekly managers’ cocktail parties and daily happy hours are island traditions.

Aruba’s Top 10 restaurants: In no particular order we recommend Papillon Restaurant, Windows on Aruba, Passions on the Beach, Yemanja Woodfired Grill, Marandi, Que Pasa?, Matthew’s Beachside Restaurant, L.G. Smith’s Steak & Chop House, Chalet Suisse and Amazonia Churrascaria.

Safety Issues: Crime is not a major problem in Aruba and most visits are trouble-free, however visitors are still advised to take common-sense precautions, locking valuables in the hotel safe and taking care when walking home at night.

Getting around: Many vacationers will opt for taxis, as they are an affordable and familiar choice for travelers who want to avoid the hassle of deciphering bus routes and foreign street signs. Government-regulated rates and easily distinguished cars (those with a ‘TX’ on the license plate) all make traveling by taxi very convenient.
